\ Innovazione \ The Croatian Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts entrusts AREA Science Park with the creation of the national innovation system

After the OIS-AIR initiative for the Balkans, it is the first time AREA is assigned a project concerning a whole country

To contribute to the economic development of the Republic of Croatia promoting business competitiveness, the establishment of innovative start-ups and the valorization of research results: this is the goal of the task that has been officially assigned by the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts of the Republic of Croatia. (Ministarstvo gospodarstva, poduzetništva i obrta).

After obtaining the funds for the OIS-AIR initiative in the Balkans, it is a further international recognition for the methodologies we have successfully experienced in regions and macro-regions: it is the first time the territory to be enhanced is a whole foreign country.

Our experts – with NOTITIA d.o.o. – will make available their competences to:

• map public and private research centers’ results to benefit companies;
• analyze innovation gaps in the business system;
• propose the best methodologies to create an innovation ecosystem in Croatia;
• promote the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship through structured training and dissemination plans;
• create 5 innovation centers (Innovation Councils) which will have the task to support the implementation of innovation policies at the operational level.

From a systemic point of view, this initiative represents the first step in a process necessary for the integrated development of a number of actions to support the competitiveness of businesses, which may be subject to further interventions.
