Imagine having a “brain” available, an expert able to resolve doubts and answer questions on the most varied topics. Someone to help you not only to find the solution to a problem, but also to understand how it was reached. No, this is not Google and not a teacher who offers make-up lessons after school hours. Your brain is called – not coincidentally –  Cervellotik.com and it has become, in a short time, the best “consultant” for high school and university students.

Who is this, or better yet, what is this, really? It’s an online web education platform where high school students, university students and experts in different subjects meet: from Physics to Maths, from Literature to Psychology. The students pose questions and indicate possible payment (usually from 2 to 10 Euros), the experts propose the explanation, which might also be free. The result, either by file or link (for example, to a video uploaded on YouTube) is available for everyone. If the student is not satisfied, he or she can ask for clarifications or further details.

A community is thus created whose members find support for resolving the difficulties they encounter in their studies, improving their marks, preparing for exams, quizzes or oral tests in class. Cervellotik.com has been created based on an idea of a group of young people from the Basilicata Region and has become a start-up thanks to help from Bicube, the Innovation incubator in Basilicata, sponsored by the Basilicata Region with AREA Science Park.

After a crowd-funding campaign with the goal of raising funds to develop new functions and improve the “Beta” version of the platform, Cervellotik comes to market having developed a second service: schoolup.it, a portal to respond to the need of a Work-School alternation. With schoolup.it, schools have available the latest generation platform capable of combining e-learning – on topics of self-entrepreneurship and innovative start-ups – and the new concept of the Simulated Training Company.

During its funding phase, moreover, Cervellotik has presented its candidacy for the Venture Capital Fund – Basilicata Development to launch the start-up at a national level. The candidacy has gone well, with a co-investment brought forward by Basilicata Development and the strategic partner Memory Consult, a consulting firm that designs, manages and promotes innovative services. The official closing of the entry of co-investors in the share ownership of Cervellotik S.r.l. just took place a few days ago, and now the company plans on confirming its presence in the online Educational market.
