Red zone: changes to on-site services at Area Science Park

New orders from the Italian Minister of Health see Friuli Venezia Giulia classified as “Red Zone” as of Monday 15 March. With a view to further reducing the risk of infection, the Italian Government has also approved a new decree law, valid from 15 March to 6 April 2021, establishing more stringent measures than those already in force.

In light of this, the following on-site services at the Area Science Park campuses are suspended as of Monday 15 March:

  • children’s education services at the “I Cuccioli della Scienza” nursery
  • guest house accommodation, which will continue to run only for those who have already checked in as at 14 March
  • educational trips and visits to Area Science Park.

The protocol service will continue to be available from 8.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The Congress Centre and all meeting rooms remain closed.

Café and canteen services at the Padriciano and Basovizza campuses will continue to operate as follows:

  • café: 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. – take-away only
  • canteen: take-away only, prior booking required.

The staff at Area Science Park will continue to provide all non-deferrable services as normal for residents, as well as all other essential services, and all activities related to managing the COVID-19 pandemic will continue.
