From Idea to Business

This is how we turn an idea into a successful company

An entrepreneurial dream is nurtured by passion. However, in order to be successful, it also requires expertise, resources and experience. The establishment of a startup or a spin off is a complex process, where product development, organisational and access to market issues may represent obstacles difficult to overcome. A promising solution – the result of research activities or the product of ingenuity – is definitely not enough.

Area Science Park has developed an original incubation model through Innovation Factory, its certified incubator supporting future entrepreneurs in the most challenging stages of a start-up life cycle (from pre-seed to early seed) which are marked by a high risk of failure.

From the validation of the business plan to the business acceleration, Innovation Factory supports the startuppers in a process of individual growth allowing them to deal knowingly with all the aspects of the entrepreneurial project – from team building to product development and transition to the market. Innovation Factory, the incubator for innovation-oriented startups

The creation of an ecosystem suitable for the establishment and growth of innovative startups. This is the mission lnnovation Factory (IF), Area Science Park’s in-house incubator, has pursued since 2008.

At first, the activity of Innovation Factory was essentially focused on the pre-incubation stage – from the entrepreneurial idea to the startup establishment. Over time, however, the incubator has also extended its support to the subsequent stages of incubation and post-incubation. Today, Innovation Factory provides an integrated offer of physical incubation services meant in the strict sense (working area, connectivity, etc.) and qualified solutions supporting business development (mentoring, coaching, Project Management, training, networking, etc.) across all stages of the incubation process (from pre‐ to post‐ incubation), as well as development capitals, all of this after a strict initial selection, and oftentimes acting as a real co-founder of start-ups.

A good idea, no matter how promising, may come to a standstill simply because the search for necessary support and funds to complete its development stages was unsuccessful, or due to the failure in establishing the first business relationships in the relevant market. Starting from the pre-seed stage of a company life cycle, we strive to avoid losing the best ideas along the way
