Innovation in Public Administration

We promote the innovation of the procedures and planning methodologies of the Public Administration.
AREA Science Park provides expertise and services in support of:

• Energy and climate-change adaptation
• Innovation of strategic planning processes for climate-change mitigation and adaptation, with a special focus on the transition towards renewable energy sources (e.g. bilateral agreement with the City of Trieste)
• The funding of energy efficiency works in buildings (e.g., the ELENA FVG project in collaboration with the Friuli – Venezia Giulia region)
• The study of smart grid solutions (e.g., the SUPAIR project)
• The activation of climate-change adaptation policies within the context of the EU Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy

Mobility and transport

• Sustainable mobility planning (LOCATIONS, SUPAIR and PORTIS projects) within the local (regional and municipal) public administrations
• Integration between energy planning and sustainable mobility planning (SIMPLA project)
• Management of company fleets and transition towards electric mobility (NeMo project) with innovative solutions concerning policies, planning processes and technologies.

Technologies for health and wellbeing

Technological integration processes for improving and making more effective the provision of services by the public administrations involved in the social and healthcare sector.

Fields of activity – a few examples:

• Technologies for the wellbeing of individuals and for the continuity of healthcare (especially home-care services for the elderly, chronic patients and children)
• Socio-health integration, such as healthcare and assistance service models for the various market segments and technologies supporting innovative home-care services.
